Police search for missing KZN truck driver

After a few quiet weeks on the truck torching front, the plague that has been hindering the South African logistics market reared its ugly head once again as KZN police search for a missing truck driver, Thawanda Juru (35), who has not been seen since 29 September. Juru – who was last seen leaving Bayhead driving a truck filled with copper belts – never reached his destination, and his truck was subsequently found abandoned on the R603 highway in Richmond, with Juru and the copper belts disappearing without a trace.

His family has not seen him since and police in Maydon Wharf are appealing to the members of the community for assistance with regard to the missing person. On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing a red vest, grey Adidas track pants and sandals. He is dark in complexion and has a scar on the forehead. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Maydon Wharf detective, Warrant Officer Chris Nackerdien on 074 189 6371 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
