Biometric boarding platform to ease congestion at JFK Airport

In a landmark announcement, Vision-Box and Terminal One Group Association (TOGA) have agreed to provide the JFK International Airport in New York with seamless biometric boarding to ease congestion and travel time.

The one-step paperless biometric boarding process will use facial recognition technology, replacing passport and boarding pass checks, to allow up to 500 passengers to board an airplane in under 20 minutes.

Lufthansa will be the first carrier to apply the process, with all 22 international carriers operating out of JFK airport set to adopt the new system, including Air France, Japan Airlines and Norwegian Airlines.
