Shipping major brings on new monitoring programme

Hapag-Lloyd will introduce real time container tracking to its service roster, the global shipping giant announced at the recent Transport Logistics International Trade Fair in Munich.

The ‘Hapag-Lloyd LIVE’ monitoring programme allowed for real time navigation, temperature control and power-off alerts, Hapag said in a statement.

As a first step an estimated 100 000 containers would be fitted with the customer-centric programme, said Juan Carlos Duk, managing director of global commercial development at Hapag Lloyd.

The programme was developed by supply chain solutionists, Globe Tracker.
