Pleasing economic growth in Kenya
2 May 2019 - by
Kenya’s economic performance outstripped expectation in 2018 according to the 2019 Economic Survey report just released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
The report shows the economy expanded by 6.3% compared to 4.9% in 2017.
Cabinet secretary, National Treasury and Planning, Henry Rotich, said at the launch of the report that the growth was higher than the 3.0% recorded for the sub-Saharan region and 3.6% estimated for the global economy.
Favourable weather conditions in the country in 2018 contributed to increased production of crops and livestock.
