SA companies eye Ghana

South African companies will aim for trade and investment expansion in Ghana today at the Outward Trade and Investment Mission.

Supported by the Department of Trade and Industry, 30 diverse companies will participate in the mission through the department’s Export Marketing and Investment Assistance Scheme.

The scheme aims to develop export markets for South African products and services, and to recruit new foreign direct investment.

Ahead of its commencement, Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies affirmed that the Ghana mission was part of South Africa’s investment-led bilateral trade approach with African countries, aimed at increasing intra-Africa trade and investment.

South Africa exported R4.4 billion worth of goods to the West African country in 2018, while imports were valued at R8.7 billion.
