A 21-year-old Moroccan stowaway had his journey cut short when port security at the Port of Tema escorted him off the vessel Lanidie and took him into custody last week.
He boarded the vessel at Safi Port in Morocco in the belief that it was bound for Spain. According to the crew, after 10 days without food, he surrendered.
Tema Port Security Manager Joseph Punamane said his outfit was collaborating with the Ghana Police and the Immigration Service to arrange his return passage with the Moroccan government.
