Liquor industry signs good business practice guidelines

Liquor companies, including the likes of Heineken and Vinpro, have signed guidelines for good business practice for South African companies operating in the African continent.

Witnessed by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Rob Davis, and chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry, Joanmariae Louise Fubbs, the proceedings took place in Cape Town this week.

The guidelines do not present additional obligations for the industry.

According to Davis, the objective aims to encourage companies to align their involvement and practices with the South African government’s integration and development objectives in the continent.

To date an estimated 60 countries have signed the guidelines.
