Global speaker line-up to discuss expropriation without compensation

The Free Market Foundation will later this month host a conference on the explosive topic of land expropriation without compensation (EWC), an issue many fear could wreck an economy that already finds itself in a precarious position.

The conference in Sandton will be held on November 20/21, and will herald visits from several speakers across the continent and elsewhere like Venezuela and India.

One of the most anticipated speakers is Rejoice Ngwenya, the founder and executive director of the Coalition of Market and Liberal Solutions of Zimbabwe.

Ngwenya’s insights into his own country’s fractious land situation, particularly the effect that retribution-style farm dispossession had on the country’s economy during Robert Mugabe’s last decade and a half in power, is expected to draw a wide audience.
