Saudi growth strategy focuses on logistics

Saudi Arabia’s airfreight sector will play a pivotal role in the country’s aspirations to become a global logistics hub.
That’s according to Omar Talal Hariri, CEO for the Saudi Airlines Cargo Company, who said that the air cargo sector would be a key player in realising the objectives set out in Saudi’s Vision 2030 growth plan strategy.
Speaking at the second Supply Chain and Logistics Conference in Riyadh recently, Hariri said one of the objectives that had been identified as instrumental for improved service delivery was speeding up administration and ancillary services.
“The local air cargo sector is committed to improving all handling facilities.”
As a result, Saudi Cargo has launched “new projects to develop and construct the infrastructure facilities of Jeddah and Riyadh cargo stations”.
Strides have also been made in “reducing import and export documentation and procedures by 75%, an action designed to enhance the efficiency of logistics services and speed up the accomplishment of the Kingdom’s digital transformation”.
