WCO launches new Single Window online course

The World Customs Organisation (WCO) has recently developed a new online e-learning course focused on a Single Window (SW) environment.
The course was funded by the UK government through Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs service and is based on a recently reviewed version of the WCO Single Window Compendium.
According to the WCO, the course is structured in a way to enable learners to build a comprehensive knowledge of an automated processing environment for the clearance and release of goods.
This is done by applying solutions such as advanced cargo information, integrated processing of customs declarations and supporting e-documents.
The course is split into two groups
The first is designed to help policy-level decision makers to understand the SW environment and its implications for cross-border activities, while the second focuses on the technical aspects for implementation.
“Successful completion of the e-learning modules will enable the distance learner to explain the concept of a SW environment, recognise the advantages of its implementation, and identify the components of SW architecture,” read a WCO statement.
The course is available for free to all customs officers from WCO member countries on the organisations’ CLiKC! platform.
