Ramaphosa to co-chair global commission on future of work

The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa will co-chair a top-level Commission on the Future of Work set up by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2017.

Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven, will join the president in co-chairing the 28-member Commission.

The global body has been set up to assess the rapid transformation taking place in the world of work, identify the key challenges, and make recommendations on what must be done to make the future of work better and fairer.

“The Global Commission is grappling with one of the most important and pressing challenges of the modern global economy. If we are to improve the lives of people across the world, we need to prepare collectively for a new world of work,” said Ramaphosa
