Breaking: Retusa to strike at Durban’s Bayhead precinct
19 Apr 2018 - by
The Revolutionary Transport Union of South Africa (Retusa) has given notice to Transnet that it will embark on a protected strike in Bayhead, Durban today.
According to Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), the strike action is likely to impact TNPA’s marine operations less significantly than Transnet Port Terminals’ terminal operations.
“However contingency plans have been put in place to ensure that delays and disruptions to shipping are kept to a minimum and a Joint Command Centre between TNPA and TPT will be activated on the day,” said a TNPA spokesperson.
FTW Online was unable to ascertain the reason for the strike action.
