Dakar plans new port and logistics zone

The Port of Dakar has revealed plans to build a new port - capable of handling the latest generation of giant container carriers - 50 km from the present facility.
It also plans to develop a 600-hectare economic and logistics zone.
Kristof Waterschoot, CEO of two subsidiaries of Antwerp Port Authority (PAI and APEC), who recently signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Dakar on behalf of Antwerp, has indicated that Antwerp will assist Dakar in the building of the new port through the provision of skills development.
