New York flights affected by strike

John F. Kennedy International Airport is one of several airports affected by the strike.

Seven hundred workers - including baggage handlers, cleaners and customer service agents - at three New York-area airports are on strike.

Airport workers at Newark Liberty International Airport walked off the job at 21h00 on Tuesday night.

Workers plan to strike at John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Philadelphia International Airport.

The job strike will continue until Friday July 14.

Some delays should be anticipated and agents should advise travellers to check the status of their flights in advance.
