Watch: Trade between SA and Ethiopia could improve
5 May 2016 - by Michael Ferguson
Improved trade between South Africa and Ethiopia could be on the cards pending the approval of a bilateral commission, Paul Runge, director of projects and development finance for Africa House, told delegates at a presentation on Ethiopian business opportunities hosted by the Ekurhuleni Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently.
The commission would increase South African exports and it make it easier for South African investors to tap into the Ethiopian market of 95 million people.
Commenting on the chances of the commission being approved, Runge replied: “It will happen. Government will make it possible but then it is up to the private sector to establish business.”
