Consumer commissioner axed

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies, has decided not to renew the contract of Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi, the Commissioner of the National Consumer Commission, which expires on 03 September 2012.
The Minister has re-iterated his preference for an open competitive process, and declined to accede to Mohlala-Mulaudzi's request for an automatic renewal of her contract.
